Storming into the National League

We are proud to announce that we have been given league status and will now be competing in the 2017 National league for senior contact teams which commences in April.

The Storm had previously been Associate members of the league and played a series of friendly games winning one and losing two. “This is terrific news for the club and Morecambe Bay area in general” said an elated Head Coach Scud Fairhurst “as we will be renewing our friendly rivalry with the Walney Terriers who play at Ulverston in the Battle of the Bay, but will be testing the team against the Carlisle Sentinels, Gateshead Senators, Leeds Bobcats and Knottingley Raiders. It will be a steep learning curve but one the guys are relishing.”

The fixtures for the 2017 campaign are due to be released in the next couple of weeks.

We also held our first of two Rookie Days at Salt Ayre Sports centre this weekend and are holding the second event this Saturday the 21st January from 12 noon until 2pm. Coach Fairhurst reported a good turnout of potential players “With a lot of talent, who can make a significant impact on the team’s success this year.”
